I missed the progress bar that used to pop up at the bottom whenever a page is loading on Firefox 3 plus the toolbars and menu was reduced to a little button labelled Firefox at the top left (kinda boring). Seriously, the new design looks a bit of Google Chrome and Opera but I still love firefox anyway and thought of ways to make Firefox 7 look more like version 3.
Of course, the first thing I did was to make the menu look just like that of version 3 which I was quite used to. You only need to enable the menu toolbar as shown below:
Just check click Menu Bar and you'll have that old look back but wait a minute, we're not done. Click on View and check all four options there:
That's that. It's almost looking like Firefox 3 but that progress bar that normally shows up at the bottom is missing, right? And the status bar isn't exactly what it used to be? We'll fix it, you only need to download an add-on, Status-4-evar, which adds a status widget and progress bar for Firefox 4, 5, 6 and 7. After installing the addon, restart your browser, go to Tools > Add-ons, Click on Options right below Status-4-Evar and configure as shown below:
If you got it right, you should have your status and progress bar back just like old firefox versions.

This works on all newer versions of firefox right from version 4 down to seven. It's feels good using the latest version of firefox but still with that old look you're much used to. Share the post if it helps!
