First off, I'd like to let you know it's better joining our web forum if you need quick updates on these networks cuz the last few days has been sort of tough on both MTN and Etisalat subscribers, right? It's like all working tricks on both networks got blocked right at the same time and their subscription isn't that friendly, at least, not to everyone of us. I just pulled down a file of 12MB with MTN under few minutes and my credit balance is still intact. Wanna know how? I bet you do. Anyway, you can use any of your existing Opera Mini browsers or download any of these below:
Download Opera 4.2 Handler
Download opera 6 Handler
Download MTN prov file (For S40 Nokia phones)
Download Etisalat proxy file (For S40 Nokia phones)
Free Browsing Update On MTN
You can use MTN default settings and activate it or enter it manually.
APN - web.gprs.mtnnigeria.net
Username - web
Password - web
IP Address - 010.199.212.002
Port - 8080
You can get these settings automatically by sending SETTINGS in a text message to 3888.
As I said earlier, you can use any of your existing opera mini or download the ones above and use the settings below:
Primary server or HTTP server - http://80.239.242.250:80
Secondary server or Socket server - socket://80.239.242.250:1080
Front Query - loaded.mtnonline.com@ (not necessary for symbian phones)
Host - 10.199.212.8
That's all you gotta do to get your opera blazing once more.
Free Browsing Update On Etisalat
As of today, Etisalat isn't that tight cuz the only thing that seems to be working well on it is that old socket trick that has refused to die for almost 2 years. lol. There's word around that the former trick still works by changing www.google.com.ng to www.etisalat.com.ng but I didn't confirm this. I tried the settings below earlier today and worked.
Input these settings as your default configuration:
APN - etisalat
Username - blank
Password - blank
IP Address - 80.239.242.250
Port - 80
For either Opera Mini 4, 5 or 6 handler:
Primary server or HTTP server - http://80.239.242.250:80
Secondary server or Socket server - socket://80.239.242.250:1080
Leave the rest blank you you should select No Proxy if you're using Opera 6 Handler and all the rest settings should be blank. Go to opera settings by pressing #8 and locate network settings. From here, change the Protocol from HTTP to Socket.
It kinda sucks at the moment but hey, half bread is better than none. These settings still works as at November 1st, 2011 but if you got here through google when the settings has already stopped working, register at 9jaclub.com and get updated.
